What the heck is copy and why do I need someone to write it?

Copy refers to words, generally words that persuade someone to take action, from buying to joining to subscribing to endorsing. A copywriter writes these words, whether they are on a website, a blog, a video script, audio, a billboard or across the sky for that matter. Most copywriting these days is online-based, but copy is still everywhere.

Someone needs to write these words. It may be you, it may be your boss or your employee or your colleague. And it may be me.

Bad copy = mixed-up message.
Mixed-up message = no sale.
No sale = no business.
