Writing content is not for everyone, but this doesn’t mean you can’t write good copy if you must.

Over the years, I’ve amassed extensive experience in the field of writing, and have also talked to other copywriting experts about their own experiences. With that in mind, I present to you these three great copywriting tips:

Copywriting Tip 1: Create a catchy headline.

First impressions matter, and nothing can create a more positive impression than an attractive headline. Think of your copy headline as a billboard ad that will entice your audience to take a second look at what you have to offer. Create a one-liner or two-liner that will make a person want to read the rest of your copy.

Copywriting Tip 2: Make your reader “feel” something.

When writing your copy, you must be able to carefully craft it in such a way that will evoke your reader’s emotions. If you’re trying to sell an anti-aging cream, for example, you need to make your reader remember the number of times she bought products that were supposed to erase wrinkles and fine lines, but never lived up to such claims. If you are selling weight loss supplements, make the reader feel how frustrating it was to try various diet programs and exercise techniques that never did work for them.

Copywriting Tip 3: Use call to action techniques.

This is one of the most important copywriting techniques, and yet many people neglect to use it. Always create a sense of urgency in your reader and write your copy in such a way that would encourage them to click, sign up or buy your product/service now.

These three copywriting tips will go a long way in helping you create copy that works.
